Pata, a greatsword user belonging to the PKK guild "Blue Fruit - Kiel Branch," is expelled from the guild for protecting Leila, a former PK (Player Killer). Having lost their place to belong, the two encounter a young man named Chef, who claims to be both a minstrel and a cook, during their journey. He's a carefree and elusive man, but the moment combat begins, his demeanor changes completely. "Song Magic." A special power that infuses magic into melodies to subdue enemies. However, this power is so immense that it's also dangerous, destroying the user themselves. During the battle, Chef, nearly losing control, quietly declares: "If I don't regain my sanity, kill me." Pata feels a strong sense of unease at his seemingly resigned acceptance of death. Eventually, the three arrive at an old diner, "Lardo Inn," in Yamagran, near the northern city of Oitalia. The owner, Lardo, was a gruff and grumpy man, but knowing their circumstances, he hired the three to live and work at his inn. The aroma of warm soup. The voices of their companions. The welcome they received at the dinner table. The chefs, who had never known a "place to return to," gradually began to feel a desire to "return alive." Furthermore, those with nowhere else to go began to gather at Lardo's Inn. A girl suffering from uncontrolled magic, a soldier returning from the battlefield, a fugitive traveler—these wounded people found solace in the chef's songs and Lardo's cooking. Because it had become a "place to return to," they could no longer simply run away. However, the Central Army, who viewed the song magic as dangerous, and PKs (Player Killers) seeking the bounty, began to pursue them. The chef, not wanting to involve his companions, tries to end everything alone. To him, Pata says... "You can't protect it by just running away. Fight for the place you want to return to." This is the story of those who have lost their place in the world, who find a "place they want to return to" in a single diner, and who fight not to die, but "to return."
