Harlyn is born into a small, peaceful village, raised by loving parents who show her the beauty of the big wide world, all compact into the small home she's living in. When her father dies defending the village from the Goblin King, Harlyn’s childhood innocence collapses. The village begins to despise her family after her mother is forced into desperate measures to survive, pushing Harlyn into isolation with the other kids even more. She spends her days alone in the forest, practicing magic, caring for her now-vegetative mother, and enduring bullying and hunger while clinging to the last threads of hope. After tragedy forces her to leave the village with her uncle, her new life begins after that. Death of her parent make her make a promise to her-self. "from now on, no one else must face the same fate she did!".
