人類は「フォードナー」の手によって絶滅した。残党は128の空島（怪物や絶え間ない生命の粛清に脅かされながらも、地球上の最後の砦）に逃げ込んだ。おとぎ話に出てくるような英雄たちが、滅びゆく世界を救おうと何度も手を尽くした。大それた展望もなく、ただ質素な商人になることだけを願っていた青年が、フォードナーと対面したのだ。この出会いが彼の人生を狂わせ、やがて剣の柄を握らされることになる。

Humanity, as known, went extinct at the hands of "Fōrdners". Remnants erecting and fleeing to 128 sky islands - the last bastion upon earth, despite still being threatened by the monstrosities and their constant purging of life.

Heroes like those in fairy tales tried their hand at saving the dying world, many a time. Untimely events lead to an unlikely candidate: a young man with no grand outlook, wishing only to be a humble merchant, coming face to face with a Fōrdner. An encounter that would prove to throw his life into a spiral, eventually finding himself with a sword's hilt grasped.
